A Different Perspective on Africa

What image comes to mind when you hear the word Africa?

Many people immediately think of either a continent struggling with poverty or one experiencing rapid economic growth. But when we visit rural villages, we encounter an Africa that is neither.

We meet people who may have very little financially, yet whose lives are rich in community. Families gather to share tea, neighbors laugh together, children play freely, and traditions continue to thrive. At the same time, these communities remain trapped in poverty by circumstances beyond their control. A single setback, a poor harvest, severe weather, or an unexpected accident, can threaten an entire family's livelihood. Many parents are forced to leave their homes and migrate to cities for work, seeing their families only a few times each year.

At Dots for, we believe that communication and digital technology can change this reality.

Our vision is to create a world where people in rural Africa can continue living in the communities where they were born and raised, surrounded by their families and friends, while remaining connected to the wider world and the opportunities it offers.

Access to information, financial services, education, employment, and digital tools should not depend on where someone lives. These opportunities have become part of everyday life in much of the world, and we believe rural Africa deserves the same future.

That is the future we are committed to building.
